CMS Hasche Sigle advises Meliá Hotels International on acquisition of Innside by Meliá designer hotel in Leipzig

22/04/2013

Berlin – Meliá Hotels International (formerly Sol Meliá) has signed a lease for over 20 years to operate a 153-room hotel in Leipzig. The lessor, KSW Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG, is developing the new hotel in a fully renovated neo-classical building originally constructed in 1853, combined with a completely new annex.

A team led by lead partner and real estate lawyer Dr Andreas Otto advised Meliá Hotels International. CMS Hasche Sigle has been advising the hotel group for many years on all aspects of its German hotel projects, including acquisition of the Innside hotel chain back in 2007.

The Innside by Meliá design standards and lifestyle brand will be applied during conversion into a 4-star hotel. The new part of the building will have a modern façade featuring several slanting sections. The intention is to create a synthesis of classical and modern architecture.
Meliá Hotels International is the largest Spanish hotel chain. It operates more than 350 hotels with 87,000 rooms in 35 countries. Its portfolio includes the brands Gran Meliá, Meliá, ME, Innside, Tryp by Wyndham, Paradisus, Sol and the timesharing brand Club Meliá.
