Berlin – Berlin's two central agencies for technology and business development have merged. The move saw TSB Innovationsagentur Berlin GmbH, a subsidiary of Technologiestiftung Berlin, merging into Berlin Partner GmbH.
A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by lead partner Dr Wolf-Georg Freiherr von Rechenberg was involved in structuring the project from the start. The team also coordinated the merger from the corporate, tax and regulatory viewpoint and provided corresponding legal support.
One of the objectives of the restructuring is to ensure that Berlin's previously separate business and technology development agencies can support innovative high-tech firms in Berlin more effectively. The one-stop service also aims to attract national and international technology companies to set up business in Berlin. Following the merger, the new "Berlin Partner für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH" entity is the central point of contact for all aspects of business and technology development in Berlin. As a public private partnership, the corporation is supported by partners – 236 companies, scientific institutes and other institutions are currently part of the Berlin Partner network.
