The Austrian plant construction company BDI BioDiesel International AG has successfully concluded
its IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and has thus become the first listed company in the Prime
Standard from the field of biofuel. BDI BioDiesel is a worldwide leading provider of complete
solutions for plants for the production of bio diesel. With its 70 employees the company generated
a turnover of almost EUR 39 million in the first half of 2006.
The IPO met with great interest from private and institutional investors. The issue was more
than doubly oversubscribed. The issue volume is ca. EUR 83 million. BDI BioDiesel received almost
EUR 43 million as a result of the IPO.
Bankhaus Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. KGaA accompanied the IPO as sole bookrunner and
coordinator. The Erste Bank of the österreichische Sparkassen AG was appointed co-lead manager.
Led by Dr Andreas Zanner the Frankfurt IPO team from CMS Hasche Sigle together with the IPO
team led by Dr Martin Zuffer from CMS Reich-Rohrwig Hainz advised the consortium banks and was
responsible for drawing up, approval and notification of the prospectus and had overall
responsibility for the legal aspects of transaction management.
