The European financial investor HgCapital is new majority shareholder in the SLV group, one of
the fastest growing manufacturers of innovative lighting systems in Europe. The founder of the
company and present director together with the rest of the management will continue to hold shares
in the purchasing company. The transaction based on a company value of EUR 320 million requires the
consent of the Federal Cartel Office. The SLV group, which includes subsidiaries and holdings in
Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Hongkong and Russia as well as S.L.V. Elektronik GmbH, has
developed into one of the most successful European light manufacturers over the past few years.
With around 160 employees in Germany the group increased its turnover by a total of 65% to
nearly EUR 73 million between 2004 and 2006. For HgCapital's German team this is currently the
sixth investment. During the transaction HgCapital was supported by Sal. Oppenheim, PwC and Kurt
Salmon Associates; the SLV group was supported by the investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort.
