CMS Hasche Sigle advises the Barkats Group and LaJonciere

Two real property companies belonging to the Hannover Leasing Gruppe, Pullach, near Munich, with offices in Dresden and Berlin have been acquired by the Barkats Group as majority shareholder and the LaJonciere Group as minority shareholder via their respective German and Luxembourg subsidiaries. A team of CMS Hasche Sigle lawyers, led by Munich partner Dr Peter von Borch, advised Barkats Group and LaJonciere on the transaction. The two transactions, which had a total volume of over EUR 75m were financed by ABN AMRO Bank N.V., London, as senior loan lender and by Investec Bank (UK) as mezzanine lender. The structure included both asset deal and share deal components.

The office buildings at Wiener Platz in Dresden will be completed in 2004. The office areas (over 12,000 m²) are leased long-term to VBG Verwaltungs-Berufsgenossenschaft and to two company health insurance schemes. On the ground floor there are shops with a total area of over 2,500 m² and below that parking and storage facilities.

The office building in Markgrafenstraße in Berlin was completed in December 2005 and handed over to VBG Verwaltungs-Berufsgenossenschaft, which has leased the building long-term as sole tenant. The building has 6,000 m² of office space together with storage and underground parking facilities.
