CMS Hasche Sigle advises ThyssenKrupp on sale of Construction Group

14/08/2012

Düsseldorf – ThyssenKrupp has sold the construction components business of ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG. The buyer is strategic Irish investor Kingspan Group, which has signed an agreement with ThyssenKrupp to acquire its Construction Group. The deal is currently awaiting approval from the supervisory bodies and the competition authorities.

An international CMS team led by lead partner Dr Jürgen Frodermann advised ThyssenKrupp on all aspects of the transaction. The CMS experts worked closely with the inhouse team at ThyssenKrupp headed by Dr Christian von Halen, which also structured the prepared carve-out within the group.

ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe’s Construction Group offers architects, engineers, project managers and developers solutions for building with steel. The company is one of Europe's biggest suppliers of lightweight steel components. With some 780 employees, the Construction Group processes around 120,000 tons of steel and reported annual sales of EUR 315 million. The Construction Group comprises companies in Germany, Austria, Belgium, France and Hungary, as well as international sales companies.
