CMS Hasche Sigle Prize awarded for excellent dissertation on corporate law

07/09/2006

For the third time commercial law firm CMS Hasche Sigle has awarded a young academic with the CMS Hasche Sigle Prize for excellence in academic research in the field of corporate law. The prize of EUR 5,000 went to Dr Nicholas Kessler for his dissertation on the subject "The stock corporation and self-administration"

"The work of the winner is extremely innovative and makes a pioneering contribution to bridging the gap between corporate and insolvency law. Dr Kessler provides a comprehensive analysis of the legal status of the bodies of an insolvent German stock corporation (Aktiengesellschaft) which is being self-administered and evolves his own solutions for the many conflicts between insolvency and corporate law provisions," commented Joachim Gres, senior partner at CMS Hasche Sigle.
