CMS Hasche Sigle successfully advises Swissport on restructuring of its German operations

An interdisciplinary, multi-location team from CMS Hasche Sigle has successfully advised Swissport on the restructuring of its operations in Germany. With
more than 33,000 employees around the world, Swissport is a leading provider of ground handling services to the aviation sector.

At the heart of the complex transaction is the spin-off and sale of the entire passenger handling business (excluding cargo) to a competitor, AHS Aviation Handling Services. This company is now taking over handling of passengers and aircraft on behalf of airlines, as well as their on-site representation, at the fourteen largest German airports. AHS is gaining around 700 employees as part of the deal. The transaction volume and restructuring costs were not disclosed.
