The Swedish pharmaceutical group MEDA AB has taken over the European pharmaceuticals division of US
multi-technology corporation 3M for around USD 857 million. A team from CMS Hasche Sigle, led by
Hamburg partner Dr Tim Reher, coordinated the European competition clearance applications for the
transaction on behalf of MEDA.
The CMS Hasche Sigle competition team also advised MEDA last year when it acquired
pharmaceutical manufacturer Viatris. MEDA is one of the leading European companies for special
