Leipzig – The international Gamma-Service Group with locations in Germany, France, the Czech Republic and Switzerland has been sold to a subsidiary of Eckert & Ziegler Strahlenund Medizintechnik AG. Equity interests held by the Gamma-Service Group in the US, UK and Bangladesh were carved out of the Group before conclusion of the transaction.
An international team headed by Dr Jörg Lips (lead partner) and Dr Juliane Voigtmann (overall coordination) advised the seller on all legal aspects of the transaction and carve-out.
The Gamma-Service Group includes a manufacturer of blood irradiation devices, a firm specialising in the construction of lab and handling equipment, and a producer of industrial sources of radiation. The Group has some 150 employees across four European locations. In the 2016 financial year it generated sales of around EUR 20 million.
Berlin-based Eckert & Ziegler Strahlen- und Medizintechnik AG is one of the world’s largest providers of isotope technology components for radiation therapy and nuclear medicine. The company employs 610 people.
