Hoerbiger AG successfully advised by CMS on acquisition of Brilex Gesellschaft für Explosionsschutz

Düsseldorf – Swiss firm Hoerbiger has acquired Brilex, a privately held manufacturer of explosion protection products based in Germany. The Hoerbiger Group's purchase of Brilex is aimed at expansion of its Safety Solutions segment. The core business of Hoerbiger AG includes compressor technology, hydraulics and drive technology for the oil, gas, and process industries.

Hoerbiger AG was advised on all legal aspects of acquiring Brilex by a CMS team headed by lead partner and M&A specialist Dr Jürgen Frodermann. The team conducted the transaction on behalf of Hoerbiger AG within just a few weeks. The purchase price was not disclosed.

Headquartered in the Swiss town of Zug, Hoerbiger AG develops, produces and sells systems and components worldwide for the oil, gas, and process industries. The company operates through its Compression Technology, Drive Technology and Hydraulic Systems divisions. Hoerbiger has a total of more than 7,000 employees in over 50 countries.

Brilex is based in the Sauerland region of Germany. It specialises in the manufacture and sale of explosion protection systems. The company’s portfolio includes patented, certified explosion vents developed in-house and flameless explosion relief venting systems.
