Dr Michael Frege, head of the insolvency team at CMS Hasche Sigle, has published a new book "Verhandlungserfolg in Unternehmenskrise und Sanierung" (Successful Negotiating in Company Crises and Company Rescue). In times of economic crisis experience, diplomacy and skill in rescuing ailing companies are crucial. Michael Frege has gained this expertise with over 800 insolvencies over the last 20 years. Of these, he managed to turn around 300 of these into going concerns. In his book he describes his strategy and approach.
"In my role as rescuer, mediator and crisis manager I have learnt to tell the difference between truth and lies. Dissent and loss of trust have immense potential to leave a trail of destruction. This must be avoided at all costs. I always try to take account of conflicting interests and find a fair and reasonable compromise."
Michael Frege, lawyer and partner at CMS Hasche Sigle, one of Germany's leading law firms, has now packed all his professional experience into this practical guide. In it he sets out the fundamental rules of communications psychology and takes a closer look at the sociological aspects of negotiating, in particular the varying interests of those around the negotiating table.
In this way he develops specific negotiating strategies and provides a wealth of practical guidance. The book examines a variety of different negotiating techniques and is a valuable aid written by one practitioner for another. It will be of great assistance in navigating the rough seas of crisis.
