Stuttgart – CMS Hasche Sigle advised BC Partners, a worldwide active Private Equity-Firm, on its investment in leading lab service providers. Funds advised by BC Partners ("BC Partners") have reached agreement with the shareholders on taking a 40% stake in laboratory-testing company Synlab and acquiring FutureLAB.
The two lab chains provide services, analysis and consulting for human and veterinary medicine in a range of countries and also cover the environmental field. Augsburg-based lab service provider Synlab operates in a total of 18 countries, with 55 of the 73 locations worldwide being in Germany. The company employs some 2,000 people. FutureLAB has more than 120 locations in 7 countries (Germany, Austria, Romania, Switzerland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary). Synlab and FutureLAB jointly employ more than 4000 people and have a turnover of approximately EUR 380 million.
BC Partners was advised on this cross-border transaction by an international team drawn from several law firms within the CMS organisation and led by Dr Udo Simmat, CMS Hasche Sigle partner and private equity expert.
