Wind farms in Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony: CMS Hasche Sigle advises BKW FMB Energie AG

09/12/2011

Stuttgart – Swiss energy company BKW FMB Energie AG (BKW) has again acquired wind farms in Germany from wpd onshore, a leading German wind farm developer and facility operator.

A team from CMS Hasche Sigle led by lead partner Dr Jochen Lamb advised Berne-based BKW on all aspects of both transactions from the start.

The "Bippen" wind farm in the Federal State of Lower Saxony has been connected to the grid since the end of 2004/start of 2005. It has an installed capacity of 27.6 MW and its 12 turbines produce some 52 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity. The "Holleben" wind farm in the Federal State of Saxony-Anhalt has also been connected to the grid since 2004/2005. Its installed capacity is 25.5 MW. The wind farm's 17 turbines can feed some 59 GWh of electricity into the grid. The combined output of both wind farms corresponds to the annual power consumption of almost 30,000 households.

CMS Hasche Sigle advised BKW last year on acquisition of the "Dubener Platte" wind farm in Luckau/Brandenburg and earlier this year on the indirect acquisition of the "Lüdersdorf-Parstein" wind farm in Brandenburg via HelveticWind GmbH.
