Axel Funk is an expert when it comes to drafting and negotiating contracts, in particular in the context of special projects and outsourcing transactions. He also advises on all aspects of software development and distribution law. His practice furthermore includes work in the e-commerce, IT compliance and data protection sectors and he is also an experienced litigator, regularly representing clients in IT disputes. Large as well as medium-sized companies rely on his comprehensive IT and sector know-how.
From 1996 to 1997, he gained international experience during a one-year secondment with Glass McCullough Sherrill & Harrold, LLP in Atlanta/Georgia, and in 1992/93 he worked for the patent law boutique AJ Park in Wellington, New Zealand. From 1990 to 1994, Axel was also a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Patent, Copyright and Competition Law in Munich, and he now teaches IT, internet and media law at Stuttgart Media University alongside his legal practice.
He is practicing law since in 1994 and became a partner with CMS in 2000.
