She drafts and negotiates software (licence) agreements, reviews and advises on German and international data processing and data transfer, covers transaction-related IT and data protection law issues and, if necessary, represents her clients in court. Karin also regularly advises on questions related to online and offline marketing in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation as well as national data protection legislation. She furthermore focuses on e-commerce law, advising on issues related to setting up online shops, distance selling, online distribution or pricing information.

Karin’s practice also covers advice and litigation in copyright and media law matters, with a focus on media regulation and new media, e.g., the acquisition and exploitation of rights and licences for usages that involve new technologies and platforms.

Karin joined CMS in 2014 from an internationally operating law firm where she worked for two years as IP/IT lawyer.
