Pietro Graf Fringuelli is partner at CMS and global co-head of the CMS "Media and Sports group". His team was awarded in October 2017 by the Financial Times as the most innovative team (Driving Value) in Europe and received the "Law Firm of the Year – Media" award for the third time in 2011/2012 from JUVE, Germany’s leading law firm directory. The CMS media team is currently ranked by the major directories Chambers, Legal 500 and JUVE in the first tier of German law firms ("first place to go for media law" – JUVE).

Pietro is specialized on media law and focused on the structuring of digital business models. Key area of his activity is the copyright law regarding i.a. the acquisition and exploitation of rights via new technologies (e.g. SmartTV, IPTV, VOD, VR - virtual reality, interactive television, virtual PVR or other cloud streaming services). He furthermore advises on media regulation in the new media sector, in particular in relation to broadcasting law, and provides deep expertise in online advertising for the e-commerce and e-business sector. Pietro Fringuelli also provides legal advice within the CMS equIP programme.

Since August 2018 Pietro is the Chairman of the Executive Board of the World ESports Association WESA and League Commissioner of the ESL ProLeague CS:GO. Pietro advised game publishers and platform operators in the field of games since 2002 and various sport organizations such as the German Football League (Bundesliga) and the German Basketball League in relation to the exploitation of their rights (i.a. via bidder processes). He was until 2018 member of the Media Commission of the Media Authority of North Rhine-Westphalia (LfM) and associate professor for media law at the IFS in Cologne.

He is recognized as a "leading individual" in the field of media and entertainment by JUVE and is recommended in Chambers Global and in Chambers Europe in the field of media.
