First-Ever IEDF-CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Algeria Awards

21/05/2012

The Algerian-Tunisian Institute for Tax and Customs Studies (IEDF) and CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Algeria have created an awards programme to recognise academic excellence in Algerian tax law.

Prizes will go to the three first- or second-year IEDF student winners of a two-part competition. The five highest scorers in the first part, consisting of a written multiple-choice exam, will be selected to compete in the second part, an oral exam based on an Algerian tax law case study.

This year’s competitive exams were held on 8 May and the results will be announced around 15 June.

The jury, comprised of lawyers from the CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre France and Algeria offices, will be awarding the following prizes:

  • First Prize: A three-day introductory internship with CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre’s international tax law group in France, a three-month internship with CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Algeria and a selection of practical legal guides published by Editions Francis Lefebvre.
  • Second Prize: A three-month internship with CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre Algeria and a selection of practical legal guides published by Editions Francis Lefebvre.
  • Third Prize: A selection of practical legal guides published by Editions Francis Lefebvre.

CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre’s Algeria office, headed by Samir Sayah, currently has a team of around twenty lawyers and paralegals practising in the areas of tax, M&A, employment law, infrastructure projects and public/private partnerships.
