Regulation of the auctions and the Economic Regime for Renewable Energy in Spain

New call for October 2021

The recent energy policy in Spain is aimed at the adoption of regulatory measures to achieve the decarbonisation of its economy and ensure compliance with the obligation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in order to achieve so-called "climate neutrality".

On 31 March 2021, the Decision of 25 March 2021, jointly issued by the General Directorate for Energy Policy and Mines and the Spanish Climate Change Office, was published in the Official State Gazette (Boletín Oficial del Estado - "BOE"), publishing the Agreement of the Council of Ministers of 16 March 2021, adopting the final version of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan ("NIECP") 2021-2030, which aims at a 100% renewable electricity system by 2050.
