Supporting economic players with their energy transition

The ecological transition primarily concerns the energy sector through its various environmental impacts. This is the sector which has so far been most affected by public, European and national policies. Our teams put their experience at your service in order to advise you on your strategic choices linked to the energy transition.

Energy transition: a complex context to be integrated into your strategy

The upheavals resulting from these policies are multiple and profound: development of local production of electricity from renewable sources, as well as green gas, increasing constraints on the production of nuclear electricity and a fortiori, fossil fuel (coal, oil, gas), energy efficiency in all sectors and the emergence of individual and collective self-consumption of electricity, which affect all economic players, from industrialists to private individuals. These call into question the schemes on which national energy policies have been based for two centuries, with the risk of destabilising players, contractual equilibria and the management of major infrastructure.

Comprehensive support for a long-term energy transition

Our teams integrate these dimensions in order to meet the ambitions of our various clients.

We advise them with the implementation of their renewable energy production projects during the development, construction or operation phases, as well as with the design and implementation of internal energy consumption operations. We also support them with the sale of their energy production, as well as with the assessment of guarantees of origin from their production facilities.

We assist our clients with their choice of energy consumers, who are now major players in the energy transition. In this way, we support them when they wish to consume energy from renewable sources: with negotiating and concluding energy supply agreements with guarantees of origin, with participation in an internal consumption operation or with the negotiation of a direct purchase agreement (corporate PPA). We also advise them on negotiating agreements which enable them to control their energy consumption and notably on participating in electricity consumption cancellation mechanisms.

We are also at their side when they act as users of public networks (notably as producers and consumers) on issues of connection, access to regulated energy infrastructures or service quality.

We are also involved in the energy-saving certificate mechanism, whether our clients are obliged parties, delegates, agents, partners or beneficiaries seeking to finance their energy-saving operations. Lastly, we offer you our legal support to contribute to the deployment of electric and hydrogen mobility.

Our legal expertise is able to draw on this in-depth knowledge of our clients' energy challenges and of sectoral issues for:

  • drafting and negotiating agreements of all kinds (administrative, commercial, industrial and notably FIDIC);
  • undertaking legislative and regulatory analysis, in the context of drafting normative texts, conducting audits for acquisition operations or drafting legal advice;
  • assistance with pre-litigation and litigation, before both the Energy Regulatory Commission (settlement of disputes and sanctions) and the civil and administrative courts.
