New technologies like cloud computing are transforming the Life Sciences industry. Many businesses now incorporate data analytics and software development into their core operations. In the process, healthcare businesses are becoming, in essence, software companies.

As healthcare companies undergo digital transformation, intellectual property protection has become all the more important. Patent assertions covering the spectrum of research, manufacture and delivery activities are increasing. This shift is driving a need for companies and their legal advisors to ensure that IP risks are mitigated.

We are delighted to invite you and your colleagues to a seminar focusing on how the Life Sciences industry can continue to innovate without increasing risk from patent lawsuits. We will be reviewing industry trends and mitigation strategies, focusing particularly on how cloud providers can help their customers successfully manage IP issues.

CMS is teaming with the European Cloud Alliance to host the seminar. Our speakers will include the following:

  • Kim Gagné, Executive Director, European Cloud Alliance
  • Nicolas Schifano, Senior Director & Assistant General Counsel, Cloud IP Policy & Strategy, Microsoft
  • Gareth Morgan, Partner, CMS
