Rebound & Remodel Tourism in Scotland

Past event
27 October 2020, 16:00 - 17:00 UTC +01:00

They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder: a perhaps unexpected outcome of the C-19 pandemic has seen more of us holiday in Scotland, soaking up some of the beautiful surroundings and local experiences our country has to offer.  As the Scottish tourism sector begins to recover from the impact of C-19, what challenges face the sector as it adapts, remodels and hopefully rebounds?

We’re delighted to welcome you to the first in our CMS Scotland Rebound and Remodel event series, focusing on tourism in Scotland, on Tuesday 27 October 2020, 16:00 (GMT).

A sector supporting over 200,000 jobs and worth over £4 billion per annum to the Scottish economy, tourism is a critical part of Scotland’s economic resilience.  We’ll be joined by Vicki Miller (Director of Marketing & Digital, VisitScotland), Neil Robertson (Travels With A Kilt Blog) and Gregor Famira from CMS Croatia.

Together, we’ll be examining how Scotland’s tourism sector can recover, while addressing pressing concerns about over-tourism and sustainability.  As the rise of virtual and digital tourism also gathers pace, we’ll also hear how one country, with a similar population size to Scotland – Croatia – has successfully managed the economic expansion of its tourism sector.

We hope you will be able to join us.
