Climate change is an enormous and multifaceted risk. No sector, or area of the economy, is immune to the enormous changes ahead. Climate policy, law and litigation is developing at increasing pace at all levels including sector, regional, national and international levels. Pressure and expectation of investor and other stakeholders is mounting. The demand for monitoring, reporting and filing of emissions is increasing at significant rates. The legal and commercial risks are significant.
This session will first contextualise the breadth and depth of climate law risks, and in doing so dispel many myths. Following this will be legal perspectives from two sectors, namely the Finance and Insurance sectors. These have been chosen because whilst they are themselves vertical sectors, they also stretch across all other sectors.
This is one of our Risk, Resilience and Reputation series of events. Advising on current and future risk, building resilience in difficult situations and protecting reputation.
