26 January 2022

International law firm CMS has acted for InstaDeep, a leader in advanced AI decision-making systems for solving real-world problems, in relation to its Series B fundraise, led by Alpha Intelligence Capital together with CDIB.

InstaDeep will use the funding to advance its high-performance computing infrastructure optimised for Decision-Making AI, continue to hire elite talent and accelerate the launch of disruptive AI products across multiple industries. It will also expand its global presence into the United States.

Investors in the round include BioNTech, Chimera Abu Dhabi, Deutsche Bahn’s DB Digital Ventures, Google, G42 and Synergie.

Valentina Santambrogio, who led CMS’s advice to InstaDeep, commented: “Having advised AfricInvest when they first invested in InstaDeep and having worked with InstaDeep since then on various matters, it has been a real pleasure to watch them grow and consolidate their position over the years, and to help InstaDeep complete such a successful series B fundraise.”

Isabelle Levard, CFO at InstaDeep, commented: “We are grateful to the CMS team for all their guidance, support and dedication over the past few months in helping us close such a tremendous funding round. Valentina and team have proved once again both their legal expertise and client focus.”

The CMS team advising InstaDeep was led by Valentina Santambrogio, supported by Will Holder and Jure Tus (Corporate), Andrew Quayle and Jasleen Kaur (Employee Tax Incentive), Joanna Willems and Loretta Pugh (Data Protection), Sam De Silva and Ilana Goddard (IT and Outsourcing), David Parrish (IP) and Jacob Gilkes (Tax).
