23 April 2019

CMS is pleased to announce that it has secured the no. 1 spot by transaction value in Inspiratia’s Q1 2019 legal adviser rankings for renewables.

Over the first quarter of this year, CMS advised on approximately £3bn of transactions across the sector. This included sell-side mandates for CMS Hamburg on the £1.7bn German offshore wind farm Veja Mate and for CMS London on the sale by SSE of 49% stakes in the Scottish onshore wind farms Stronelairg and Dunmaglass for £635m.

Commenting on the results, Charles Currier, Co-Head of Corporate at CMS says: “We are pleased that CMS’ position as the leading law firm in the European renewables sector has been reflected in the Inspiratia rankings.”

Munir Hassan, CMS’ Head of Clean Energy adds: “It has been an incredibly active start to the year. Our position in the renewables sector has meant that we have been successful both in securing mandates and in helping those deals to successfully close.”
