CMS’ London HQ wins ‘Best Fit out of Workplace 2016’ at the BCO Awards

27/04/2016

CMS’ London HQ, Cannon Place, has been awarded ‘Best Fit Out of Workplace’ for London and the South East at the British Council For Offices (BCO) Awards 2016.

BCO's primary objective is to define excellence in office space. The annual awards recognise top quality design and functionality and are a benchmark for excellence in workplaces.

Duncan Weston, CMS’ Managing Partner, comments: “It is an honour for our new London HQ at Cannon Place to be recognised by the BCO as an outstanding workplace against nine other fantastic offices in London and the South East. With our architects, KKS and MCM, we worked hard to make our Cannon Place HQ work well for our clients and our employees for now and the next 20 years. The stunning design, how the space reflects our brand and is integrated with state-of-the-art technology and works so well for our clients and employees, were noted by the judges.”

CMS worked with KKS Strategy and MCM Architecture to create a modern and collaborative workspace, designed around clients, and defined by sectors, with practice based teams working in an open-plan environment. The workspace is enhanced by innovative technology, allowing for total mobility and enabling employees to work at their desks, move into a meeting room, around the building or work remotely.

Cannon Place sets the benchmark for efficiency in the legal sector with 30% less space than its previous offices and with capacity for around 15% more people.

Katrina Kostic Samen, lead architect at KKS, comments: “CMS challenged us to create a "wow" environment for their clients and employees, showcasing the breadth of the CMS global reach while demonstrating its commitment to technology, client service, and professional delivery. A unique outcome, clients are welcomed upon arrival, comfortably ensconced in either the technology hub, business centre or meeting suite. The design is not predictable for a law firm, and neither is CMS."
