Andrew Lewry is a partner in our Real Estate Transactional Group and has deep experience drawn from acting for a wide range of clients including financial services institutions, property companies, developers and corporate landowners for over 25 years.

Andrew is experienced in all aspects of property investment and development including portfolios, site assemblies, sites subject to planning arrangements and ransom issues, remediation and infrastructure and other construction matters, joint ventures, overage and future profit participation schemes and structuring tax efficient ways to achieve disposals. He also has extensive experience in the acquisition and pre-letting of major retail and commercial property portfolios and residentially-led mixed use redevelopment and regeneration schemes.

Relevant experience

  • National Grid Property on the sale of major sites which are surplus to the operational business including sites at Battersea Nine Elms and Fulham, South West London.
  • National Grid Property Holdings on CPO proceedings promoted by TfL and Docklands Light Railway affecting land at Beckton Gasworks, advising and reaching settlement by private treaty.
  • National Grid on the formation of its property joint venture with Berkeley Homes for the acquisition and development of major brownfield sites – St William Homes LLP which was the Property Week ResiAwards deal of the year for 2015!
  • Southern Gas Networks on its proposals for the disposal of surplus sites including Oval Kennington Gas Station.
  • Land Securities on the pre-letting of Trinity Leeds 1 m sq ft retail and leisure shopping centre which opened in March 2013. Andrew led the team responsible for delivering the pre-letting to time, involving relocations and new lettings to approximately 100 retail and leisure operators.
  • Aberdeen Asset Management on the proposed leisure extension of Castle Quay Banbury with leisure, hotel and foodstore redevelopment.
  • West Register on its disposal of a major Private Rented Sector portfolio to Apollo
