Ben is an Associate in our Technology and Media team.  He advises clients on a range of non-contentious technology and media matters, including technology procurement and development, advertising, emerging technologies, and software-as-a-service and traditional software licensing. 

Prior to joining CMS, Ben has also spent significant time working in house, including to the Digital & Data Protection team at Aviva, and the Future Media division of the BBC.

Outside of work, Ben can normally either be found at the cinema, or out on a run while listening to the latest episode of his favourite Podcast.

  • A FTSE 100 insurer on its digital marketing agreements, including traditional display advertising and targeted marketing using offline data.
  • An AI insurtech start-up on its contractual arrangements with various traditional insurance companies.
  • A financial services industry body on its blockchain software for solution for the collection & dissemination of fund related data, including contracts with the developer and end user terms of use.
  • Various clients on their digital identity propositions, including an established high street company and an identity start-up.
  • Co-chair of a joint TISA & techUK Working Group on Liability and Trust relating to Digital ID.
  • A leading private bank on the roll-out of its financial aggregation service using open banking technology, including commercial contracts and end user terms of use/privacy policy.
