Josie Welland is a Senior Associate in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications team at CMS London, specialising in cybercrime and digital fraud enforcement.

Josie helps clients investigate and enforce a wide variety of cybercrime, fraud and other digital threats to clients and their customers, including brand impersonation, phishing, tech support fraud, and business email compromise. She is particularly experienced in representing VLOP’s and other large tech companies in investigations, and criminal and civil-fraud litigation.

Prior to joining CMS, Josie specialised in the representation of clients in investigations and prosecutions – brought by agencies such as the UK’s Serious Fraud Office and HM Revenue and Customs - facing allegations of bribery and corruption, financial crime, and fraud. She too advised clients on novel and complex issues surrounding civil recovery and the proceeds of crime.

Josie also has a keen interest, and experience, in matters concerning crypto and digital assets, having been involved in a number of the leading civil crypto fraud and asset recovery cases before the English High Court, and is part of the specialist Crypto and Digital Assets Team at CMS London.

Outside of work, Josie is the Chair of the Female Fraud Forum.
