Keith Wilson is Head of Aircraft Finance and a consultant in the Asset Finance Team.

He represents banks, financiers, lessors and investors in relation to the acquisition, disposal, financing and leasing of aircraft, helicopters, aircraft engines and aircraft spare parts. He has 25 years of experience in aircraft finance and has represented clients across a wide variety of transactions including debt and capital market transactions, leasing transactions and portfolio acquisitions and sales. A number of the transactions on which Keith has worked have received industry recognition by way of awards.

Although primarily focused on the aircraft finance and leasing industry, Keith also has considerable experience of other asset classes including oil and gas financing and leasing (including FPSO financings and reserve based secured loans), vendor financing, sports finance, ship finance and real estate finance.

Relevant experience

  • ICBC Financial Leasing in relation to the sale and leaseback of 7 Airbus A320 aircraft with LATAM.
  • China EXIM Bank in relation to a secured financing for a subsidiary of CDB Leasing refinancing the acquisition of two Airbus A320 aircraft on lease to S7 Airline.
  • ICBC Financial Leasing in relation to a sale and leaseback of 5 Bombardier G6000 Aircraft with VistaJet and in relation to the related export credit financing from EDC.
  • Engine Lease Finance Corporation on the successful acquisition of a portfolio of more than 40 leased aircraft engines from Macquarie in a competitive bid situation.
  • CIT Leasing as agent for a syndicate in relation to a secured loan facility for AJ Walter with collateral comprising aircraft rotables, other spare parts and certain receivables.
  • Erste Group Bank on numerous limited recourse secured financings (often including equity participation arrangements) with aircraft investors involving security over leased aircraft and aircraft equipment in countries including Panama, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, United States, China, Lithuania, Thailand among others.
  • Engine Lease Finance Corporation on the set-up of a joint venture with Mitsubishi to acquire leased aircraft engines.
  • Deutsche Bank in relation to secured financings of numerous corporate and private jet acquisitions.
  • ICBC Financial Leasing in relation to a refinancing of 4 Airbus aircraft on lease to Wizz Air.
  • ICBC Financial Leasing on the acquisition and subsequent re-financing of a portfolio of 10 aircraft purchased from RBS Aviation leased to carriers in UK, Russia, Brazil and Indonesia, among others.
  • Addax Petroleum on several reserve based secured financings including a USD 1.6bn financing with BNP Paribas, Natixis and Standard Chartered.
  • Chevron North Sea on the $700m restructuring of UK tax lease financing of an FPSO and related subsea equipment.
  • Xerox’s captive vendor financing arms in UK, Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands and Belgium in relation to multiple funding, joint venture and M + A transactions.
  • A Family Office in relation to multiple sports financings including a number of receivables based financings for Premier League football clubs.
  • COSCO Container Lines in relation to a $386 million syndicated loan facility and a USD 80 million finance French tax lease facility to purchase eight container vessels.
