Nigel Moore is a consultant in the Pensions Team. Until 2017, Nigel was Head of the Pensions Team until 2017, a role he held for 20 years. He is a very experienced practitioner, having advised on all aspects of UK pensions law for nearly 30 years.
Nigel also has considerable management experience, having been Managing Director of the firm’s UK business for 3 years and having managed the firm’s Commercial Practice Group and then its Human Capital Group each for 4 years.
Nigel has specialised in pensions and employment related issues for nearly 30 years. He focuses particularly on strategic pensions projects, for example advising companies and trustees on pension scheme closures and benefit restructurings, takeover situations and major scheme mergers.
He also has extensive experience of dealing with the Pensions Regulator, the Pension Protection Fund (he advised the trustees of the first pension scheme to apply for entry to the PPF) and the Financial Assistance Scheme.
Nigel has wide-ranging litigation experience in the High Court, as well as dealing with Pensions Ombudsman investigations. He was also part of the team which took Coloroll, the leading case on equalisation to the European Court of Justice.
Nigel is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences, and has spoken three times at the Association of Pension Lawyers Annual Conference.
