Rebecca is a Partner in the Construction and Engineering team in our London office. She is a commercial construction expert specialising in complex real estate development work. As well as advising on construction contracts, Rebecca has significant experience of drafting and negotiating construction provisions in agreements for lease, development agreements, corporate/asset sale and purchase contracts, joint venture documentation and facility agreements.

Rebecca advises on all aspects of construction projects across a variety of procurement routes including design and build, traditional, construction management and management contracting. Rebecca works across a number of sectors including office, student accommodation, logistics, residential, retail, leisure/hotels and mixed-use/regeneration.

Relevant experience

 

  • Mitsubishi Estates on several major city office developments including 6/8 Bishopsgate (with development manager Stanhope) and the redevelopment of The London Studios (with development manager CO-RE). As well as advising on the construction contracts for the design and construction of the works, Rebecca negotiated the development provisions of the development management agreements and letting agreements. 
  • Great Portland Estates on multiple developments in Central London comprising office, retail, restaurant and residential spaces which included several significant pre-lets and forward sales. 
  • Frogmore in connection with the development, letting and sale of their landmark Oriana project on Oxford Street in London, part of a joint venture with Land Securities.
  • One of the world’s largest marketing and communications companies on the pre-let and fit-out of two major London office developments.
  • Cheslfield in connection with various redevelopment projects at their landmark Knightsbridge Estate, as well as advising in relation to the construction elements of pre-lets. 
  • Urbanest on several mixed-use developments in Central London, including the redevelopment of Roman Wall House which included office space (which was forward sold), student accommodation, a café and a public exhibition space. 
  • Canada Pension Plan Investment Board on its £1.5bn build to rent investment partnership with Lendlease.
  • One of the world’s largest logistics companies on the pre-lets of logistics sites around the UK, including reviewing landlord proposed development contracts and adapting them to meet this specific client’s procurement requirements.
  • The Crown Estate on its regional portfolio, including the development of a premium out of town retail destination with dining and leisure facilities.
  • Greenland Group in connection with the multi-phase redevelopment of the RAM Brewery site in Wandsworth which includes residential, retail and leisure components. 
  • Global Student Accommodation on the due diligence for the acquisition of a 7,150 bed student accommodation portfolio, which included several live construction sites.
  • A major student accommodation provider on cladding/fire safety remediation issues across their portfolio.
  • CitizenM on the development of their Vauxhall Bridge Road hotel development in London.
  • CityID in connection with the design and construction of their first overseas aparthotel in London.
