Tom qualified in 2017 and primarily advises on patent litigation, contractual and regulatory matters with a particular focus on the life sciences sector. 

Tom has recently spent time on secondment in Sandoz GmbH’s Patents Global Litigation & Launch team and previously in GSK’s Consumer Healthcare department.

  • Estar Medical Limited with a successful defence of a relief from sanctions application.
  • Glenmark Pharma in its successful defence of an advertising/regulatory dispute.
  • Boston Scientific in a successful patent infringement action relating to transcatheter aortic heart valves.
  • An Israeli-based private pharmaceutical company in relation to European regulation and the classification of medical devices and medicinal products and its application to a particular periodontal product. 
  • An international pharmaceutical company on a freedom to operate launch analysis in the UK and certain EU markets for a lidocaine based medicated plaster.
  • Detailed advice to a client concerning the Pricing and Reimbursement system for drugs and their interrelationship with the Cancer Drugs Fund.
  • Formal requests and applications for action to HMRC concerning a client’s substantial plant patent portfolio.
