Over a year since it originally appeared in Parliament, the Pension Schemes Act has received Royal Assent. The Act arms The Pensions Regulator with sweeping civil and criminal powers; introduces new climate change reporting obligations on trustees; ushers in critical changes to the scheme funding and statutory transfer frameworks; and lays down a template for things to come in the shape of pension dashboards and collective DC arrangements.
With the impact on companies and their advisers, CMS has produced a detailed Guide to the new Act, covering the changes to defined benefit regulation as well as the other areas impacted by the new law. This Guide will be updated as new regulations and guidance are released. For further information, please speak to your usual contact at CMS.
CMS is also delighted to announce the launch of the 15th edition of the Pensions Law Handbook, the definitive guide to pensions law and practice in the UK. Written by the CMS pensions team, it is an essential guide for the pensions community, navigating readers through the complex web of pensions-related statutes, regulations, regulatory guidance and case law, in an accessible style.
