Highlights of our Experience in Student Accommodation in the UK

Real Estate & Construction

  • M&G Real Estate  on forwarding funding and financing in the student housing sector both on campus: (Royal College of Music, St Andrews University, Bangor University and Swansea University) and; off-campus: (New Bridwell St Bristol, Dunaskin Glasgow, and CRM SellyOak and CRM Haddington Edinburgh including Swansea Bay Campus and The Royal College of Music).
  • Unite Student Accommodation on their first income-strip deal in partnership with The University of Aberdeen and M&G and on the Scottish retail aspects of Unite’s acquisition of the Cordea Savills’ GBP 137m Student Hall Fund.
  • Curlew Student Trust on the acquisition and forward funding of a development site for student housing in Glasgow’s Collegelands, and the investment acquisition of a new build 151-bed student housing development on Edinburgh’s Potterrow with a nomination agreement to The University of Edinburgh. We’ve also been instructed to act for Curlew in relation to a 4 scheme project from Alumno across the UK.
  • Aberdeen Asset Management on a student accommodation forward funding scheme with a pre-let to a University in Canterbury, where we added value to the client by reviewing the layout of the residential blocks, and applying VAT legislation to that to achieve zero rating on the construction costs.
