András is senior counsel in the real estate team in CMS's Budapest office. 

He has been involved in many of the most prestigious real estate, real estate finance and renewable energy deals in Hungary over the last few years. He has also gained extensive experience in construction and real estate development law, and has advised clients on environmental issues. 

András is also specialised in legal issues concerning the hotel and lodging industry.

Relevant experience

  • Forestay Group on the revision and renegotiation of the lease and financing structure of a student housing project in Budapest, including assisting the client on setting up and registering a new real estate fund.
  • Goodman, the Australian integrated commercial and industrial property group, on the construction and “built-to-suit” letting of an 87,200 sq. m. greenfield logistics facility.
  • Pepco on the planned development of its new regional distribution centre in Gyál-Hungary, of approx. 100,000 sq. m., including assisting the client with the design agreement, on the legal aspects of the project management services, on preparing and reviewing the construction contracts, and on the licensing proceedings.
  • A Hungarian property management and leasing company and the owner of a downtown Budapest four-star hotel on leasing the hotel to an international hotel chain operator, and on the asset sale of the hotel to a German real estate fund.
  • SRF, a manufacturing company based in Gurgaon, India on its first greenfield investment in Hungary, including a legal due diligence related to the selection of the property suitable for the Hungarian factory, participating in the acquisition of the property and advising on construction contracts and warranty disputes related to the construction of the factory.
  • Infineon on the expansion of its Cegléd site and participating in the negotiation of design and construction contracts.
  • Bluehouse, a major Greek investor 
    • on the sale of the Infopark E office building to Diófa Asset Management.
    • on the acquisition and financing of the “E” unit at Infopark and a major retail scheme leased to Tesco;
    • on the sale of EPF Terrapark.
  • Apollo Tyres on its greenfield investment in Hungary, including advice on property expropriation, licencing and general construction contracts.
  • Honeywell on the construction and expansion of its Hungarian plant, including advice on building and design contracts, as well as the construction trustee.
  • The Central European University on renovating and extending its campus buildings, including assisting the client with the tender process and drafting the sample general contractor agreement. 
  • Datalogic on the construction of its new Hungarian factory, including advice on design and building contracts, land acquisition and modifications to the regulatory plan. 
  • Becton Dickinson on the construction and development of its plant, including advice on building and design contracts, as well as the construction trustee.
  • Shell on the disposal of eight petrol stations in Hungary, mainly along motorways. 
  • Roche on drafting a lease agreement and during the negotiation phase regarding the renewal and renegotiation of its head office in Hungary.
  • Rockspring on the property management issues concerning a retail chain portfolio, including assisting with rental activity and sales of retail units, and in disputes with tenants and enforcing the landlord’s claims.
  • Hypothekenbank Frankfurt on various real estate acquisition financing transactions, as well as on a development financing transaction.
  • ProLogis on the acquisition of sites for the development of logistic parks and on the establishment of legal structures of land-use, including participating in the sale of certain logistics properties.
  • Atenor Group on the acquisition and development of an office building of approximately 40,000 sq. m. GLA in the XIII District of Budapest.
  • Iberdrola Renovables on the development and operation of wind farms in Hungary.
  • Raiffeisen Energy on the development and operation of wind farms in Hungary. 
  • Siemens on environment pollution issues on industrial real estate properties. 
  • GTC Hungary on a complex real estate acquisition financing transaction involving an office building in the XIII District of Budapest, on the land acquisition, development, and letting out the CenterPoint I. and II. office buildings, as well as on the land acquisition in Sasad (XI district in Budapest) related to a future major residential development.
  • Several tenants on complex lease agreements for various entities including British Telecom, Baxter, Mastercard, Travelport, etc.
