CMS is pleased to present a panel on "The Impact of the BRI on Dispute Resolution in Emerging Markets" at this year's Paris Arbitration Week. The panel will take place from 8:30 - 9:30am CEST on Thursday, 23 September 2021.

As BRI projects expand and proliferate around the globe, one major question that has arisen is the methods and mechanisms of dispute resolution involving such projects. A variety of approaches can be discerned, ranging from tried-and-true "traditional" arbitration through to utilisation of one of the many tailor-made solutions now offered in China, including in particular the China International Commercial Court ("CICC"). Our panel - comprised of pre-eminent dispute resolution experts with diverse backgrounds and offering a variety of perspectives - will explore the impact of BRI projects on dispute resolution options around the world, with a particular focus on emerging markets, and offer unique insights into managing disputes involving BRI projects.
