Webinar: EU Trade Secrets Directive

Past event
22 November 2016, 11:00 - 12:00 UTC +00:00

We are delighted to invite you to our next webinar of our 2016 series, addressing the new EU Trade Secrets Directive and its implications for the business.

Trade secrets are valuable business assets to companies. However, digitalization and the globalization of markets present a threat of misappropriation and unfair competition for businesses and their clients.

Following-up on our last year’s webinar on trade secrets in which we talked about the then current proposal for a Trade Secrets Directive, we will now look into the brand-new Directive after it came into force in July 2016.This new Directive introduces, for the first time, a harmonized protection scheme for trade secrets in the EU, and will lead to important changes in many member states. Our lawyers Renaud Dupont and Nikolas Gregor will outline the basic content of the new Directive and discuss its most important consequences and issues, such as the new legal requirements for trade secret protection, the exceptions, the catalogue of remedies, or the protection of trade secrets in civil litigation, for example.
