Notes

A new law was passed in 2019 which opened up the previously restricted Dutch market and from 1 October 2021, the first licensed operations went live under the new regulatory regime.

Licences are available to all legal entities with their statutory seat or head office within the EU or EEA, and are available for up to five years. Licences will only be granted to reliable parties, and the administrative, criminal and tax history of the applicant (and people and legal entities affiliated with it) will be examined. The Dutch government is currently working on proposals to tighten the rules on online gaming advertising and maximum gaming limits.
