Interview with Olga Belyakova

What has been your most memorable moment as a lawyer?

When I was 25, I attended a criminal search of a huge telecoms company where I had to deal with armed people and persuade them not to switch off vital telecoms equipment or remove key business documents. After I managed to do that, I realised that I could do anything.

If you weren’t a lawyer, how would you earn your living?

Something involving the history of art.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

You should never be afraid of asking. The worst that can happen is that you will not get an answer. If you do get one, however, it can change your life.
