Samson obtained his LLB from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa, in 2008, trained with Rushmere Noach Incorporated, South Africa and obtained his Attorneys Certificate of Proficiency in 2009. He qualified as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2014.

Relevant experience

  • Advising various multinational organisations seeking to rollout their technology offerings in Kenya and in particular advising on regulatory requirements for payments service licenses, telecommunication licenses and compliance with e-health guidelines/regulations.
  • Acting for various local and international organisations in connection with share purchases, joint venture and business restructuring, as well as obtaining regulatory approval where required.
  • Advising an international investor on the licensing and regulatory requirements in respect of establishment and operation of a ship-to-truck facility for the distribution of Liquified Petroleum Gas in bulk / cylinders.
  • Advising Kinangop Wind Park Limited and Kinangop Wind Park Leases with respect to Kinangop Wind Farm, a USD 150 million project that was expected to be the largest in East Africa and one of the first fully privately funded commercial project.
  • Advising and acting for a Sudan based company in a PPP project with respect to constructing and leasing an accommodation facility.
  • Advising and successfully acting for the International Container Terminal Services Incorporated (“ICTSI“), in respect of a dispute relating to public private partnership with the Kenya Ports Authority.
  • Advising various international organisations on employment matters, including review and drafting of contracts, Country Manuals and Employment Handbooks/Policies to ensure compliance with Kenyan Law.
  • Advising various non-governmental organisations, including CBM, Christian Aid and IMA World Health, on compliance and governance matters.
  • Advising and successfully acting for a top cement producer in Kenya in respect of an investigation by the Competition Authority of Kenya regarding restrictive trade practices.
  • Advising on aspects of all aspects of data and consumer protection.
