Webinar Recording | Greenwashing in the Luxembourg financial sector

Focus on latest studies and insights at EU level

Following our last webinar on greenwashing in the financial sector (available here), we organised a second webinar focusing on the latest studies and insights at EU level.

As the risk of greenwashing continues to increase within the EU, the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs) are examining the issue to produce a common solution.

On 1 June 2023, the ESAs published a common understanding of “greenwashing”, together with a progress report.

Attention is drawn to different kind of greenwashing practices that are currently existing on the EU market, together with their drivers and immediate actions that could be taken to mitigate the systemic risk that is Greenwashing.

This recent development confirms the need to understand and prevent even more the risk of greenwashing in the financial sector.

In that context, during the 15-minute-long webinar, our experts gave an overview on namely:

  • What is the common understanding of Greenwashing in the EU;
  • What current practices are referred to as “greenwashing” in the investment fund and banking industries;
  • What are the most relevant risk mitigating strategies.

Please feel free to contact our experts, should you have any questions.
