Seminar ‘Is the crisis over?’ (in Dutch)

CMS Derks Star BusmannNewtonlaan 2033584 BH Utrecht

Past event
15 April 2010, 15:00 - 17:30 UTC +00:00

Is the crisis over or is the worst yet to come? There is huge uncertainty in the Dutch business sector. This uncertainty means that even the lawyers of the Corporate Recovery Team at CMS Derks Star Busmann are being regularly confronted with this question!

Naturally we have our own opinion about this, based on our experiences in the various sectors and what we hear from financial and economic specialists. How they answer the question ‘is the crisis over?’ is interesting; even more interesting, perhaps, are the arguments they put forward and the differences that arise between the various sectors.

That is why on 15 April 2010 we will be organizing the seminar 'Is the crisis over?' during which the journalist and economist Mathijs Bouman will comment on the developments. Bouman is well-known as a stock market commentator at RTL Z. In 2006 he published his book 'Hollandse Overmoed - hoe de beste economie van de wereld ontspoorde' (Dutch overconfidence - how the best economy in the world went off the rails). He will discuss the developments in specific sectors such as real estate, retail, the international business sector and business services.

Following the presentation by Mathijs Bouman there will be a panel discussion with Wout Dekker (CEO of Nutreco) and Henk W. Broeders (member of the Executive Committee of Capgemini and member of the Social and Economic Council of the Netherlands (SER)). These two speakers will give a short presentation on what they believe is the greatest opportunity and the greatest threat in the current economic situation, after which there will be ample opportunity for those present to discuss any issues raised.

Practical information
The seminar starts at 3 pm at our Utrecht office and will end at about 5.30 pm. This will be followed by drinks, when those attending will be able to continue their discussions informally.
