Seminar on Distribution & Franchising

On Thursday 3 June 2010, CMS Derks Star Busmann will be organizing the seminar ‘Distribution & Franchising - Payments when entering into and terminating franchise relationships and other forms of distribution’.

During the seminar we will discuss the characteristics of distribution and agency relationships and the differences between them, as well as the potential goodwill payment at the end of such relationships and how this relates to franchising.

Other issues to be discussed include the entry fee with franchise relationships and liability for turnover forecasts, which a franchiser gives to a potential franchisee to enable it to draw up a business plan and/or especially with a view to obtaining finance. Finally, we will examine the link between franchising and lease and the potential financial payments at the end of the lease.
