CMS advises Aedes Real Estate and UBM on the development and operation of the Amsterdam Hyatt Regency

CMS advised Aedes Real Estate and UBM Realitätenentwicklung on several agreements executed with Hyatt Hotels Corporation for the development and operation of the Amsterdam Hyatt Regency.

The Amsterdam Hyatt Regency will open in 2015. The hotel will have 211 rooms (including 15 suites), meeting facilities, a restaurant, a bar, fitness, spa and business facilities and will be located on the site of the former Emma Children Hospital on the Sarphatistraat. The renovation is expected to cost approximately € 50 million. The Amsterdam Hyatt Regency will be a first-class deluxe full service hotel and will be operated by Hyatt for an initial period of 25 years.

Aedes operates across the Netherlands as an independent property developer, developing residential accommodation, hotels and office/business premises and redeveloping complex urban locations. Aedes in partnership with Marcel Wanders recently opened Andaz Amsterdam, a luxurious lifestyle and boutique hotel, located at the Prinsengracht and operated by Hyatt.

UBM is a leading European property developer. Its property portfolio comprises office, retail, commercial, and residential properties. In addition it develops and operates hotels and it provides facility management services. UBM is based in Austria.

Hyatt is a leading global hospitality company with hotels in approximately 45 countries with a worldwide portfolio of approximately 490 hotels.
