CMS advises on the sale of the Alpuro Group

CMS Derks Star Busmann has advised the shareholders of the Alpuro Group on the sale of the Alpuro Group to the VanDrie Group.

Both companies are integrated veal producers and each manage the production of their own feed, buy young calves, support their associated veal farmers, maintain and operate their own abattoirs and processing plants and manage sales domestically and overseas.

The Alpuro Group is located in Uddel (the Netherlands), has 280 employees and realized an annual turnover of € 240 million through its subsidiaries in the Netherlands and Italy.

The VanDrie Group is located in Mijdrecht (the Netherlands), has 1700 employees and realized an annual turnover of € 1.6 billion through its subsidiaries in the Netherlands, France, Italy, Belgium and Germany.

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2010 pending among others anti-trust clearance.

Corporate partner Roman Tarlavski led the team consisting of Arne van Bijnen and Damia van Laarhoven (Corporate), Robert Bosman and Kim van Haastrecht (Competition).
