CMS assists Hitachi in leasing its new distribution centre

CMS Derks Star Busmann assisted Hitachi in developing the new distribution centre for Hitachi Data Systems in Zaltbommel. Hitachi selected Kadans Nederland as the developer of the distribution centre. Kadans Nederland will also be the owners of the distribution centre.

Hitachi Data Systems is a subsidiary of the Japanese multinational Hitachi and produces heavy-duty data-storage systems for large computers. Banks, hospitals and companies with a large amount of data to store number among Hitachi’s customers. The new distribution centre is intended for the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East and Africa).

A distribution centre, assembly plant and offices totalling more than 30,000 m² will be built on a plot measuring 45,000 m². Around 200 parking spaces will be available on the roof of the building. The project involves an amount of approximately 30 million Euros. Hitachi shall enter into a fifteen-year lease with Kadans.The building has been designed to enable it to be awarded a BREEAM “Very Good” certificate.

A team comprising lawyers Sebastiaan Sellenraad, Bertine Mouthaan (both Real Estate) and Martika Jonk (Corporate) assisted Hitachi in drawing up the LOI, the joint venture agreement and the lease with Kadans.
