01/08/2022

The law firm CMS Grau continues to drive its growth plan with the incorporation of a new partner to the Dispute Resolution area. Alessandra Cocchella has extensive experience successfully advising companies and private and public institutions from various economic sectors in negotiations, transactions, court proceedings and arbitration. With her nomination CMS Grau increases its number of partners to 30.

The new partner of the firm has a distinguished career in procedural law.

Alessandra Cocchella has developed a prestigious professional career as a lawyer for almost fourteen years; a career that has positioned her as an expert in all types of litigation and arbitration. During her experience she has been involved in matters of notable relevance in civil and contractual matters, as well as in the sponsorship of civil, commercial, constitutional, administrative litigation and national and international arbitration proceedings.

I face this new professional challenge with great confidence and enthusiasm to continue contributing to the development of CMS Grau in Peru and internationally, to continue supporting our clients in all current and future challenges and new projects that may arise. Belonging to an international firm such as CMS, represents an important step in my career of which I feel very proud.

With a law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and a master's degree from the same university, Alessandra Cocchella has been recognised in the Dispute Resolution category by international directories such as Chambers and The Legal 500. Alessandra Cocchella has also served as an arbitrator for the American Chamber of Commerce of Peru - AmCham Peru and the Center for Conflict Analysis and Resolution - PUCP and is a regular speaker at academic conferences and seminars, as well as the author of several professional publications.

In addition, the new partner of CMS Grau is a member of the international organization "Arbitral Women", an organization that promotes diversity and the participation of women in the arbitration world, and WIP Peru (Women in the Profession), an initiative that aims to promote the leadership and progress of women in the legal profession.

She is a great reinforcement for the team and a clear reference of the type of leadership that CMS Grau promotes. Her promotion to partner is not only based on her great professional quality but also on her human qualities, her strong commitment to the firm and to the service we provide, widely recognised by our clients.

CMS Grau currently has 22 practice areas, 13 of which are led or co-led by women.
