Raúl Ferreyra has been part of CMS Grau since 2000 and he specializes in Mining Law and his legal background combines experience in corporate, Intellectual Property, tax, bankruptcy and the real state practice areas.

Raul has worked as an in-house lawyer for Rio Tinto and as a partner of the mining practice permanently involved in the project planning of La Granja and other Rio Tinto's mining projects, giving direct assistance in corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, including certain mining-tax, finance issues, infrastructure planning and governmental affairs. 

He is also acquainted with geothermal energy matters, assisting clients and potential investors with respect to the administrative proceedings for the granting of geothermal authorizations, rights, and related permits.

Relevant experience

  • Franco-Nevada acquisition of a long-term silver streaming worth more than USD 610 million from Teck's share in the Antamina mine.
  • Assessment on Goldcorp´s secondary offering of its shares in Tahoe Resources for approximately C$1 billion.
  • Glencore’s structuring of a precious metals stream from its Antapaccay mine in Peru for USD 500 million.
  • Advised Glencore in concluding a streaming contract regarding some production of its Antapaccay mine for approximately USD 500 million.
