CMS advises Motel One on first investment in Poland

CMS has advised Motel One, a German network of hotels operating across Europe, on its entry onto the Polish market and the acquisition of the first Motel One hotel in Warsaw.

The Motel One hotel, opened on 2 July 2019, is located on Tamka Street in Warsaw’s popular Powiśle district, close to the Vistula River and in the immediate vicinity of the city centre. The 12,700 sq. m. hotel offers 333 rooms.

Currently, Motel One operates 71 hotels with 20,160 rooms in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Austria, France and Spain.

CMS advised Motel One on the acquisition of the land and hotel building from Strabag AG, which erected the hotel according to Motel One standards, and provided legal advice during the investment process. CMS also advised on the financing of the transaction.
